The lorry was heading from Esch-sur-Alzette towards Luxembourg City. A police patrol finally managed to pull the lorry over as it entered Avenue de la Gare at around 11pm.
It was evident that the driver was inebriated, and he was asked to take a breathalyser test.
The test was positive, and the officers had no choice but to withdraw the motorist’s driving licence. A report was drawn up on the spot and the lorry was immobilised.
