The mother of two children suffered severe injuries and has now passed away eight years after the accident.
In 2018, the officer sat in one of two police vehicles who were in pursuit of a driver who had fled an alcohol check in Weiswampach.
Due to a mishap, both police vehicles collided during the chase. One of the police cars had made a turn at the height of Lausdorn. The second police car crashed into it at high speed.
The accused police officer who sat behind the wheel of the second car was acquitted in October 2022.
The civilian driver who fled the police check received a fine of €1,000 and a suspended driving ban of 18 months.
One police officer died on site that day, this now marking the second death related to the Lausdorn accident.
