Experts on site believed that the fire started from the hedge and bins before jumping over to the two homes.
Witnesses heard loud noises before the flames started, presumably fireworks. There were reports of fireworks in Tetange in the evening as well.
Police are calling all possible witnesses who may have been in the area or spotted a suspicious person, to step forward and contact Esch Police on 244 50 1000 or via email (police.esch@police.etat.lu).
