On Friday, the Grand Ducal police announced their latest campaign targeting motorbikes, with an emphasis on ensuring the vehicles are equipped correctly to ensure their riders’ safety. Officers will also be checking papers are up to date in a range of upcoming checks.
The campaign emphasises that motorcyclists who prefer to ride during nicer weather may experience an increased risk of accidents after the winter break. Police encourage riders to be careful and to ensure their protective clothing is still in good condition. Helmets are of course obligatory.
Riders are also advised to check their motorbikes’ condition after any prolonged break to ensure the tyres, brakes and other technical aspects are still fully functional.
Motorcyclists are among the most vulnerable road users and are exposed to a higher risk of injury in accidents, say police.
