Luxembourg police responded to two separate incidents involving public intoxication in Luxembourg City on Tuesday night, according to official reports. In both cases, individuals were taken into custody.
The first incident occurred at around 8.30pm near Place François-Joseph d’Argent. A pedestrian, reportedly walking in the middle of the road, posed a danger to both themselves and motorists while allegedly provoking passersby. Officers located the individual at a nearby petrol station, where they were assessed as heavily intoxicated. Following a medical examination, the person was arrested and placed in custody. Police also issued a fine for allegedly taking drinks from the petrol station without payment.
Approximately one hour later, officers were called to a bar in the Cents neighbourhood after a patron refused to pay. Police found the individual visibly intoxicated and uncooperative. The person also reportedly insulted the officers at the scene. After being examined by a doctor, the individual was placed in a holding cell to sober up.
