Luxembourg police deployed a significant force in the Gare neighbourhood surrounding the central railway station on Tuesday afternoon, 29 July 2025. The operation involved 22 officers supported by a canine unit, with particular focus given to Rue de la Fonderie and Rue de Hollerich.

Authorities confirmed the sweep targeted drug-related crimes and immigration violations as part of ongoing efforts to bolster police visibility in what they describe as a “sensitive” urban area. The mid-afternoon operation resulted in checks of 23 individuals.

Police reports indicate one person received a citation for narcotics offences, while seven foreign nationals were found non-compliant with residency or identification requirements.
