The police conducted various alcohol tests in Luxembourg City on Boulevard Roosevelt, in Rollingergrund, as well as in Neudorf. Further checks occurred in Bettembourg and in Angelsberg.
A total of 498 drivers were checked, of whom 23 had had one too many to drive. Eight of them had their driver's license revoked, 15 were fined, and another eight were given a warning.
In addition to the alcohol checks ordered by the state prosecutor's office, three more drivers were caught drink driving. They had had so much to drink that the officers revoked their licenses immediately:
The first one involved a more serious case of drink driving where a vehicle crashed into a tree, resulting in material damage and one injured.
The police was also called to Mondercange because of a motorist's suspicious driving style, which concluded in a positive alcohol test.
Finally, a person was reported on Rue de Longwy in Rodange around 6 am as she had been sitting in her car for a longer period of time and behaved strangely. She, too, had had one too many.
