Police were alerted to a theft from a car parked on Rue de Kirchberg in the capital around 11.30am on Saturday. Unknown perpetrators smashed a rear side window and stole a bag containing a cap and gloves.
A second incident occurred at around 1pm at a service station on the A6 in Capellen. While the driver and their companion briefly left their parked vehicle to enter the petrol station building, a suspect took the opportunity to steal a bag from the boot. The stolen bag contained, among other items, a tablet, cash, and sunglasses.
Later that afternoon in Steinsel, a witness saw a man break a window of a parked car on Rue Basse before fleeing the scene. Police subsequently located and checked the suspect at a nearby bus stop. During their search, officers found a screwdriver, a safety hammer, and a box cutter in his possession.
Police have launched investigations in all cases and have drawn up official reports. Authorities are also reminding the public not to leave valuables, bags, or electronic devices inside parked cars or other vehicles.
Even if leaving a vehicle for just a short time, drivers should ensure that doors and windows are completely closed and the vehicle is properly locked.
