
On Saturday morning, police in Luxembourg City were alerted that two people stole a victim’s phone and watch. A search was launched immediately with positive results as the two thieves were caught with the stolen goods still in their possession. The goods were returned to their rightful owner and the two culprits were arrested.
Once again, the police was kept busy on Saturday evening as they were called due to various arguments and quarrels of varying degrees of severity. By the time the police arrived onto the scene though, the situation had most of the time resolved itself.
However around 2am on Sunday morning, one incident in a bistro located on the Place Guillaume II in the City turned out differently. More people were involved in the fight leaving a person injured. As soon as the police arrived onto the scene, they noticed three people in particular behaving aggressively and even abusing emergency services officials. The three men refused to comply with police demands to leave the scene and therefore “police measures” had to be used to keep the three men at a distance. With the help of police backup, the three men were stopped and arrested. After being examined by a doctor, they were able to spend the night in detention.
On Saturday evening in Esch-sur-Alzette, a fight broke out on the Place Benelux in a bistro. After an investigation and a search of the two people involved, a small quantity of cannabis and cocaine was found. The substances were seized and the incident was logged.
