On Wednesday, Luxembourg police arrested a suspected burglar near the capital while investigating two additional break-ins, a mugging in Strassen, and a drink-driving incident.

Luxembourg police were active on multiple fronts on Wednesday, arresting a burglary suspect near the capital while investigating two additional break-ins.

Authorities apprehended an individual attempting to break into a home in Rothweit Park (Alzingen) after witnesses alerted police. The suspect was intercepted on Route de Thionville while carrying pepper spray and suspected stolen goods. Following an order from the public prosecutor’s office, the individual was placed under arrest and presented to an examining magistrate that afternoon.

Separately, police documented two other burglaries.

In Pfaffenthal/Luxembourg City, intruders smashed a window to enter a residence, ransacking rooms and stealing multiple items. Meanwhile, in Clervaux, thieves escaped with a lawnmower and other property.

The police were called to Strassen after a pedestrian was mugged and had their necklace stolen near Parc Centre Barblé.

Between Frisange and Aspelt, officers also fined a motorist for insulting public officials during a traffic stop. The driver, reportedly intoxicated and uncooperative, had their licence immediately revoked.
