The Grand Ducal police has issued advice on protecting oneself from crime during the festive season.
There will be an increased police presence across the country, particularly targeting the capital’s various Christmas markets, with regular patrols.
Visitors to the Christmas markets are urged to stay vigilant when in crowded places, and to keep valuables such as their wallet or phone in an inside pocket to prevent theft. Police also recommend only taking minimal amounts of cash or bank cards to cover what you may need.
Visitors should never leave their belongings unattended and should always keep an eye on their bags, ideally keeping them close to the body with the opening turned inwards.
Police also advise avoiding physical contact with strangers and recommend keeping a distance where possible.
