Shortly before midnight, a physical altercation took place in an establishment located on Rue Prince Henri in Ettelbruck. Somebody alerted the police to the incident, stating that an acquaintance had been attacked by a group of men, who were now waiting outside of the bar.
Police decided to deploy several patrols given the circumstances. Shortly after, they were informed that the tyres of the victim’s car had been slashed and that the perpetrators had already fled the scene in a car.
After a brief search of Ettelbruck, officers were able to identify and stop the vehicle in question. They checked the passengers and found an air pistol and a knife, probably the one used to slash the tyres. A further search of the car then showed that another man unsuccessfully tried hiding from the officers in the boot.
Over the course of the investigation, police learned that the tyres of other cars in Ettelbruck had also been slashed. They recorded the incident and informed the prosecutor’s office.
