Dudelange's open-air swimming pool has closed early for the season following a fatal incident earlier this week.
The municipal council announced the pool's closure this weekend on its Facebook page, citing the incident on Wednesday 2 September as the reason for the closure.
Staff had pulled a man from the water after he was found to be unresponsive. He was taken to hospital in critical condition, where he later passed away. The council said it wanted to give the staff the necessary time to recover after the incident.
The "Muppeschwammen" swimming event for dogs will still go ahead as planned on 13 September.
