The petition was expected to be successful and its success has now been confirmed. Five days after the petition first went live, calling for people with reduced mobility to also benefit from free public transport, more than 4,600 individuals have signed the petition.

The author of the petition will be able to engage with MPs in a public debate once the date for the debate has been scheduled. This will take place once the period allowing signatures has ended.

The petition was launched following the government's stance refusing to make the Adapto transport service free of charge at the beginning of July. People with reduced mobility must pay €5 per Adapto journey or €8 for a return journey.
