Following last weekend’s floods, Luxembourg remains under a yellow alert issued by Météolux for Tuesday and Wednesday.

On Tuesday, The Luxembourg Motoring Association (ACL) confirmed that falling trees have blocked several roads while others were closed following accidents:

  • accident on the CR160 between Dudelange and Zoufftgen
  • accident on Rue Xavier Brasseur in Differdange
  • accident on the CR358 at Keiwelbaach (Reisdorf)
  • accident on Route de Bastogne near Donkels
  • accident on the CR101 between Kopstal and Schoenfels
  • accident on the CR169 near Pontpierre
  • fallen tree on the CR356 betweenGilsdorf and Folkendange
  • fallen tree on the N15 between Ettelbruck and Niederfeulen
  • fallen tree on the CR353 between Brandenbourg and Gralingen

Meanwhile, the road between Rosport and Steinheim (N10) has been closed due to a risk of landslides. Motorists are advised to avoid the area.

A major risk of aquaplaning has been reported on the A13 between Pétange and Frisange, which experienced flooding on Monday.

Shortly after 5pm, the ACL announced that a “hole” in the carriageway had caused the closure of a lane on the A13 towards Pétange after the Frisange tunnel.

Numerous other accidents have occurred throughout the day (Frisange, Doncols, Clervaux...), but none of these led to road closures.

Authorities advise caution for all drivers. Some areas could be flooded and there is a high risk of aquaplaning under current conditions, which are expected to last until Thursday.
