Closed until further noticePart of Beaufort castle wall collapses

The incident occurred on Friday on part of the outer wall of the castle, a listed national monument.

The damaged area is approximately 15 metres long and 12 metres high, but the reason for the rock fall remains unknown.

Experts are on the premises to determine if any structural reinforcement is required.

The wall collapsed while visitors were inside the castle and the venue will remain closed until further notice.
