Luxembourg middle-distance runner Vera Hoffmann delivered a standout performance on Sunday at the elite New Balance Kö Mile race in Düsseldorf.
Competing against a strong international field, Hoffmann completed the street mile, which equates to 1,609m, in 4 minutes, 34.67 seconds.
This result marks a new national record for Luxembourg in the event.
Hoffmann finished ninth overall in a highly competitive line-up. Her time shaved 0.13 seconds off the previous Luxembourg record, which Marine Joblin had only set earlier in June with a time of 4:34.80.
