In the early hours of Sunday, at around 12.30am, police received a report that a large number of drivers had gathered with their vehicles in a car park on Rue General Patton in Contern.
Some were observed performing dangerous drifting manoeuvres.
Owing to the exceptionally high number of cars on the scene, a major police operation was launched.
More than 20 patrols from across the country were deployed, including the Operational Support Group and the K-9 unit.
Around 110 vehicles were subsequently inspected. During these checks, 47 road traffic regulation violations were recorded.
Issues identified included unauthorised technical modifications, incorrect or missing documentation, failure to wear seatbelts, non-compliant window tinting, as well as tyres and lighting systems that did not meet regulatory standards.
In several cases, defects were found that rendered the vehicles unsafe to continue driving.
The violations were formally documented, and the individuals involved were issued citations or warnings.
