A technical issue on telecom operator Orange’s network made it difficult for some callers to connect to the police emergency line on Monday, as customers attempting to dial 113 experienced difficulties. The police advised calling 112, which would connect callers to the relevant emergency services.
On Tuesday afternoon, Orange issued a press release confirming the previous day’s technical incident, which occurred between 6.30pm and 8.30pm. The company stated they had been in contact with authorities, and that any attempted calls to 113 were being automatically forwarded to 112, ensuring that no emergency calls were lost.
