
At 6pm on Saturday, police were forced to intervene in a bar on Grand Rue in Rumelange. A man behaved aggressively towards staff and insulted them, unwilling to calm down even after officers arrived at the scene. Since he refused to leave the establishment and represented a danger to himself and others, police decided to detain him. He was first brought to a hospital for a medical check-up before spending the night in an arrest cell.
Around 6.30pm, police followed up on a lead in Esch-sur-Alzette and witnessed their person of interest driving into an alley. Upon reversing, the man in question collided with the police car. Officers then found that he already served a driving ban and that he tested positive for alcohol. They issued a fine.
On Rue Belval, also in Esch-sur-Alzette, a dink driver was caught speeding at 120 km/h. Police issued a fine after finding that the motorist also lacked valid insurance papers.
On Sunday morning, a motorist crashed into a traffic sign at the intersection of Avenue de la Faiencerie and Boulevard de la Foire in Luxembourg City. The driver fled the scene towards Kirchberg, but was stopped by the police soon after. His alcohol test came back positive and his driving license was revoked.
