Luxembourg emergency services responded to a road accident and multiple drink-driving cases in separate incidents, with one driver sustaining serious injuries.
On Tuesday morning, a serious collision occurred between a lorry and a car on the road between Christnach and Consdorf. The CGDIS responded to the scene, despatching an Emergency Medical Assistance Team (SAMU).
One person sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries, while a second individual was taken to hospital for further assessment.
The lorry, which was transporting industrial detergent, suffered an oil leak that spilled onto the road. Firefighters used a specialised liquid to clean the spill. Police later confirmed that the detergent cargo itself had not leaked.
In separate incidents, police apprehended two motorists for driving under the influence.
On Monday afternoon, officers in Bonnevoie stopped a suspected drink driver following reports from the public. A breathalyser test confirmed the driver’s intoxication, resulting in the immediate revocation of their licence.
Later that night, another driver in Luxembourg City was pulled over after running a red light at the intersection of Boulevard Royal and Rue de la Porte Neuve. A positive breathalyser test led to the driver’s licence being confiscated.
