The National Health Fund also provided details on the number of certificates signing people off work, which rose by a significant 15.6% since 2017. Around 769,000 such incapacity for work certificates were approved in 2018, 42,000 of those covering work accidents.
Every day, the CNS receives an average of 1,500 phone calls and 10,000 letters. The majority of these inquiries concern reimbursement requests or requests for certificates of incapacity for work.
