
Unemployment rose from 5% in May to 5.2% in June this year. According to the latest data, the number of available resident jobseekers registered with the National Employment Agency stood at 15,333 as of 30 June - 1,695 more than twelve months ago.
Although long-term inscriptions are stable, all other categories have gone up. “We have observed the most significant increases among the most qualified job-seekers [educated to university level], as well as young people under 30", the ADEM said in a statement.
The most significant increases in roles have been observed in secretarial or assistant work, culinary production and catering services, accounting and management, as well as construction and finishing work. As of 30 June, there were 9,488 available positions.
Roles have dropped in almost all sectors, but primarily in trade, specialist activity, the health sector, and administrative services.
