65 patients are currently hospitalised with coronavirus, including a dozen in intensive care at the Center hospitalier du Nord.

Spokespersons state that the facility has reached its limits and must undergo radical reorganisation if it is to continue the battle against Covid-19 effectively and responsibly. Via a press release CNhD representatives suggest that the nursing teams are “stressed” and “tired” and the concerns are paramount in the restructuring and the management of the hospital.

In order to ensure emergency care remains optimal, a complete closure of the operating rooms was decided on Tuesday evening for the Wiltz site. In Ettelbruck, the closure is partial.

All non-urgent operations are therefore postponed or even cancelled for the time being.

Urgent interventions (especially for patients suffering from cancer) are expected to be carried out without delay.

Patients whose procedures are affected by the rescheduling will be contacted by the hospital directly.
