The same rules will apply to care institutions for differently abled people.

Rapid tests will most likely be introduced before the end of the week. Minister for Family Affairs and Integration Corinne Cahen explained that this will allow visitors to be tested twice a week. Some of the institutions are also considering to require PCR tests, which they could provide to visitors via the Large Scale Testing. In those cases, the negative test result cannot be older than 48 hours.

Rapid tests are further set to be used by employees. Minister Cahen noted in that regard that people from the outside should always make sure to follow one of the safety protocols.

COPAS, who represents care sector service providers, stated that since the beginning of the vaccination campaign, the situation in the country’s retirement and care homes has improved. Employees continue to keep their distances, while everyone in contact with an infected person still has to isolate, regardless of whether they have received their shot or not.

Both the Ministry and COPAS are reinforcing their efforts to raise the vaccination willingness in the care sector. This means that even people with non-permanent work contracts will be invited to get their vaccine jabs soon.
