A showcase of Luxembourgish creativity unfolded in Venice as the Fiat Lux exhibition marked the tenth anniversary of De Mains De Maîtres Luxembourg. The show featured more than 60 works from 27 Luxembourgish creators and artisans, with the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess attending the opening.
Luxembourgish cinema was also represented at the Venice International Film Festival. Artou, a co-production from director Abderrahmane Sissako, was screened in the Venice Immersive section. Meanwhile, Guria by Georgian director Levan Koguashvili, featuring Luxembourgish participation, was shown in the Venezia Spotlight category.
During their stay, the Grand Duke, Grand Duchess, and Minister Thill visited the Luxembourg Pavilion at the 61st Art Biennale, where artist Aline Bouvy is representing the country with her project La Merde. Their programme also included a stop at the Homo Faber exhibition on San Giorgio Maggiore island.
Through these engagements, the Luxembourgish delegation aimed to give greater international visibility to the country’s diverse culture, from film and contemporary art to fine craftsmanship, on the Venetian stage.
