On Monday evening at around 7.45pm, police received a report of a person walking along or on the railway tracks in the Noertzange area. This led to authorities deciding to suspend train traffic for safety reasons.

The level crossing in Kayl, in the direction of Schifflange, also remained closed, which caused a traffic jam to build up. Drivers were unable to turn around either, since it is a one-way street.

The person who had been walking along the tracks was located at a train station shortly afterwards. They appeared slightly confused, but were otherwise unharmed.

Train traffic resumed shortly before 8.30pm.
