In a parliamentary questions to Minister for Mobility François Bausch, MP Sven Clement from the Pirate Party explains that the problem lies with the two lanes forming into a single lane leading into Kirchberg.
Bausch confirmed that the authorities are aware of the problem, and that the Bridges and Roads Authority has already conducted studies and analyses to determine ways to better regulate traffic during peak hours.
Unfortunately, no satisfactory solution has been found so far, according to Bausch.
The Pirate Party had sent the Minister a map on which the traffic lanes were rearranged to form a bend that would end in three lanes. In his reply, however, the Minister indicated that this option could not be implemented “for geometric reasons.”
