
Two cars collided in Remerschen at around 8.30pm, leaving one person injured.
Around two hours later at 10.40pm, a violent accident took place on the N12 between Wiltz and Derenbach, near Erpeldange. For reasons that remain unknown at the time of writing, the driver lost control of their vehicle on a bend and proceeded to crash into a tree. Emergency services had to extricate the driver from the vehicle and take them to hospital.
Shortly after midnight another collision between two cars took place at the Gluck roundabout, leaving two people injured.
Not long after, at 00.40am, a car drove into a ravine in Schifflange, leaving one person injured.
New Year’s Eve is always a busy time for fire fighters, and this year was unfortunately no exception. Better news is that so far no injuries have been reported in relation to these fires.
At around 00.30am, firefighters were called to Belvaux as a battery of fireworks had caught fire and caused an uncontrollable burn.
Shortly thereafter, a rubbish bin fire was reported and subsequently extinguished in Tetange.
At around 1am, a car caught on fire in Foetz.
At around the same time, a paper bin caught fire in Echternach.
At around 1.15am, a garden shed was set ablaze in Differdange.
And finally, at around 2.30am, several bins caught fire in Larochette.
