Petrol, diesel, heating fuel...New Year brings incremental rise in fuel prices

As the clock strikes midnight on 1 January 2024, consumers will find themselves facing a marginal uptick in the cost of various fuel types, including petrol, diesel, heating fuel, LPG, and propane gas.

The new year price adjustments are relatively modest, with increases measured in the low-cent range.

Starting from the first day of the year, the price of 95 petrol will see a rise of 2.1 cents, reaching €1.481 per litre.

For 98 petrol, consumers will experience a moderate increase of 1.2 cents, bringing the cost to €1.700.

Diesel prices will climb by 1.7 cents, settling at €1.487.

Both 10ppm and 50ppm variants of heating fuel will incur a 1.5-cent increase, resulting in prices of €0.942 and €0.944, respectively.

LPG prices will see a marginal uptick of 0.1 cents, reaching €0.746 per litre.

Finally, bulk propane for household use is set to rise by 1.4 cents, with the new price standing at €0.766.
