The first of two new speed cameras which will become operational in 2023 was installed on the CR181 in Bereldange on Thursday.
The test phase for the speed camera is scheduled to begin in early February. The fixed radar will measure vehicle speeds in both traffic directions, where the speed limit is 50 km/h.
Last week, the Ministry of Mobility confirmed a second fixed radar would be installed in Saeul, although the exact location is yet to be confirmed. The smallest municipality in Luxembourg is situated at the intersection of the N8 and N12 roads, meaning an average of 3 million vehicles pass through the village every year.
