This would in turn prepare the airport for any future pipeline issues or shortages, added the minister. The airport had previously been affected by issues caused by maintenance work on the pipeline in Echternacherbrück in September, as well as the July 2021 floods in Europe, which temporarily knocked out the NATO pipeline, leaving the airport without fuel.
