LuxembourgNew measures in place as operations are delayed and hospitals close

RTL Today
The emergency departments in Wiltz, Niederkorn and Dudelange will all close, with patients diverted to Ettelbruck or Esch-sur-Alzette respectively.

The Wiltz hospital will be exclusively reserved for patients who are not affected by Covid-19, in particular the elderly. For this reason, access to the hospital will be strictly regulated.

The Emile Mayrisch Hospitals have moved to phase two of their internal organisation. Niederkorn and Dudelange emergency departments will be closed, with all emergencies diverted to Esch-sur-Alzette. Non-urgent planned operations and consultations will be rescheduled across the three hospitals, and patient visits are not longer allowed.

Patients will be divided into those who are potentially infected with the virus, and emergencies. 34 beds have also been made available for coronavirus patients.
