In anticipation of Prince Guillaume’s swearing-in as Luxembourg’s next Grand Duke on 3 October 2025, the Chamber of Deputies has unveiled a new public exhibition exploring the history of grand ducal accessions. The display is open now through autumn in the passage of the Maison Wiltheim on Rue de ‘Eau.

Officially inaugurated by Chamber President Claude Wiseler, the exhibition focuses on the parliamentary perspective of these constitutional events. Visitors can view archival photographs, illustrations, and the original texts of the oaths, most of which were delivered in the Chamber’s plenary hall.

Spanning eight panels, the exhibition begins with the sovereigns of the Netherlands – who ruled Luxembourg under Article 67 of the Acts of the Congress of Vienna – and continues through the accessions of Grand Dukes Adolphe, Guillaume IV, Marie-Adélaïde, Charlotte, Jean, and Henri. It also includes the 2024 swearing-in of Prince Guillaume as Lieutenant Representative.
