On Wednesday evening, the Ministry of Education announced the closure of schools would be extended until 20 April. However, healthcare workers are still in need of childcare.
A number of childcare facilities across the country will stay open to accommodate children whose parents work within the healthcare sector.
The services will be supported by Caritas, Arcus and the Red Cross.
The facilities will be open 5.30am to 10.30pm, Monday to Friday. Requests have been made to extend opening hours to include weekends.
