The bridges are expected to be completed by the end of 2022, linking Clervaux to the new roundabout on the N7 in Marnach. The bypass will divert transitory traffic away from the tourist town, with a particular focus on heavy transport.

Earlier this week, construction teams laid a section of the new road towards Clervaux. Work will continue following the Christmas break.

The Irbich viaduct, constructed in 2019, will play an important role in the traffic diversions. The bridge is 265 metres long, standing over 36 metres above the ground. The “transversale” road will pass over the steel girder bridge away from Clervaux.

Overall the new road will be around 4 kilometres long between Clervaux and Marnach, with a budget of around 73 million euros.
