The police were busy this Saturday and Sunday, as they were called to intervene at various altercations, burglaries, and to catch a suspected drug dealer.

Early on Saturday morning, the police were called to Rue Schortgen in Dudelange due to an altercation between multiple people. When the patrol arrived at the scene, they discovered an injured woman. Later that day, the suspect returned to the location and expressed death threats towards a witness. The man was arrested on the orders of the public prosecutor and he appeared in front of the examining magistrate on Sunday.

Around 2pm on Saturday, two people were arrested for breaking into a home in Rue de la Forêt, in Leudelange. The police officers surprised the two culprits while they were fleeing through the garden. The men were carrying jewellery and two screwdrivers with them. The stolen items were returned to their rightful owners and the two underage burglars were placed in a socio-educational centre.

At approximately 3.30pm, an alleged drug dealer was arrested in the Gare district. The police found a scale and a small amount of drugs during a check. Because there was a risk he might have swallowed packets of drugs, the man underwent a scan, for which the result was negative. Nevertheless, the man was set to appear before an examining magistrate on Monday morning.

The police also reported a person wounded by a knife in Rue de la Poste, Luxembourg, on Saturday night. The injury was caused during a fight with another man. The culprit was no longer at the scene, and could not be immediately identified by the officers. The injured person was taken to the hospital.

On Sunday, a man was arrested in Mertert for being inside a house he was not allowed to, according to a court order. He appeared before a judge on Monday morning.

Also on Sunday morning, several car windows were shattered in Verlorenkost, with the purpose of stealing items found inside the vehicles. Officers identified a suspect and recovered some stolen goods. The prosecutor’s office ordered an arrest and the burglar appeared before the examining magistrate later on Sunday.
