
A patrol in Differdange spotted a vehicle at a standstill in the middle of the road at the Gadderscheier roundabout at 5pm on Wednesday. When questioned, the driver confessed he was intoxicated. Both the breathalyser and drugs tests came back positive, while officers also located a small quantity of hashish on the man’s person.
Police were notified of another drink driver on Rue de Rumelange in Esch-sur-Alzette. Officers caught up with the car on Rue Langertengaass, where they performed a breathalyser test and consequently confiscated the driver’s licence.
At 8.30pm, police in Dalheim received reports of a man attempting to climb into his car, despite being unable to walk properly due to intoxication. In addition, the vehicle was damaged and had a flat tyre. Officers were able to check the man at the scene and carried out a breathalyser test.
A motorist on the N3 attracted attention for dangerous driving at around 10.30pm, resulting in a positive breathalyser test and a licence withdrawal.
Another driver lost control of their car in Grevenmacher overnight, crashing into a number of other parked vehicles.
At 1.00am, police stopped a car on Rue de Kopstal after observing dangerous driving along Avenue de la Faiencerie in Limpertsberg.
Early on Thursday morning, a heavily intoxicated man refused to pay his taxi fare, instead climbing back into his own car and driving off. He was picked up by police shortly afterwards in Dudelange and had his licence confiscated on the spot.
