A series of traffic accidents and an apartment fire kept emergency crews busy across Luxembourg on Friday evening, leaving multiple people injured and several taken to hospital for precautionary checks.

Friday evening was marked by a series of accidents across Luxembourg that left several people injured, with emergency services responding to three separate crashes within just a few hours, according to the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS). The most serious road accident occurred in the Limpertsberg district of the capital, where two vehicles collided, injuring five people.

Earlier, at around 6.30pm, two cars crashed on the A3 motorway near the Bettembourg interchange, leaving one person injured. Shortly before 9pm, two buses collided between Esch-sur-Alzette and Belvaux, resulting in one further injury.

Emergency crews were also heavily deployed in Belvaux following an apartment fire that left one person with light injuries. According to information obtained by RTL, five people were taken to hospital for precautionary checks after inhaling smoke.
