A shop on Avenue de la Gare reported a break-in at around 9.20am. According to police, the man forced open the entrance door and stole several items.
As he tried to leave, shop employees and two security guards spotted him and held him until police arrived.
Officers found that he had already stolen from two other shops on the same street earlier that morning. He still had the stolen goods, which police seized.
On the public prosecutor's orders, the suspect was arrested and brought before an examining magistrate on Wednesday.
