The medical centre in eastern Luxembourg was due to open its doors at the beginning of April, but Minister of Health Paulette Lenert had issued an order prohibiting the installation of an MRI scanner, on the pretext that it would violate the 2018 Hospital Law.
On Tuesday, it was confirmed that the Potaschberg Medical Centre (CMP) will open its doors on Wednesday and will be able to carry out CT and MRI scans in addition to X-rays. According to the CSV, the opening of the centre represents “a major step forward for the east of the Grand Duchy, which has often been neglected in terms of medical care”.
The opposition party is now calling on the government to ensure that the National Health Fund (CNS) will fully reimburse all MRI scans carried out at the CMP.
