The motorist in question lost control of her vehicle on Rue de Stavelot at around 7.30pm on Thursday, crashing into a wall, which then propelled her vehicle on to the railway tracks.

Officers conducted a breathalyser test at the scene and also found a small amount of cannabis in the vehicle. The woman was made to surrender her driver’s licence and was issued both a fine and a temporary driving ban. Emergency services had to remove the car from the tracks.

Shortly before 8pm, a driver on the A13 towards Pétange lost control of his car near a building site, where he crashed through parts of the site and collided with an empty bus. Fortunately, neither occupant of the car was injured in the crash. When police arrived at the scene, they realised the driver did not possess a valid licence, and the car’s technical control papers had expired. The vehicle was also fitted with incorrect tyres. Both occupants of the car received a fine.

Finally, a motorist was injured in an accident on Route d’Esch in Eisenborn at around 8pm. The police report described the driver as being visibly intoxicated, and a subsequent test found the man to be over double the legal alcohol limit. Officers confiscated the man’s licence and issued a provisional driving ban, while the man was taken to hospital to treat his injuries.
