A 22-year-old motorcyclist died after crashing on the CR121 between Müllerthal and Grundhof at around 6.30pm on Monday evening. Firefighters from Beaufort and Echternach, ambulance staff from Echternach and Larochette, and the emergency doctor were on the scene to transport the victim to the hospital, but she succumbed from severe injuries during the night, as police reported on Tuesday.
Moreover, fires broke out in several locations around the country on the public holiday. In Bascharage, a waste container caught fire; on the A7, a car went up in flames; between Wandhaff and Garnich, a tractor was involved; and in Eischen, waste had caught fire. In all cases, damage was limited to property.
