The Minister for Mobility and Public Works, François Bausch, has published details on the Gousselerbierg Tunnel renovations and on the A7 in response to parliamentary questions submitted by the Democratic Party’s André Bauler and Martine Hansen of the Christian Social People’s Party.
According to Bausch, 250 cameras were replaced, as well as 2,800 lights on the Lorentzweiler Viaduct. In addition, workers laid some 50,000 metres of cable over two 10-hour shifts. Traffic was limited to 50 km/h in both directions, controlled by speed cameras, as risk analysis showed that workers’ safety could not be guaranteed at 70 km/h.
In the Gousselerbierg tunnel, the Roads and Bridges administration took advantage of the opportunity to carry out autumn maintenance on 11 and 12 September. Cleaning work is expected to take place on 24-26 October.
