Six months have passed since the majority of members present at the AMMD general assembly voiced their dismay over Luxembourg’s current healthcare policies. In the same time span, two AMMD members resigned from the management council of the National Agency of Shared Information in the Domain of Health, more commonly known as the ‘eSanté’ agency.
At the time, the Association criticised the government for making decisions without involving physicians or patients. The AMMD also decided to focus on their own app, the ‘Health Network’, rather than working with the concept of the National Health Fund (CNS).
The AMMD held an extraordinary assembly in Bertrange on Wednesday evening. Among the almost 200 guests were not only representatives of the Association, but also Minister of Health Paulette Lenert and a CNS delegation.
The main topic of the evening was the ongoing digitalisation efforts in the healthcare sector as the AMMD recently criticised the ‘eSanté’ platform again for failing to priotirise the needs of patients. According to Association president Alain Schmit, the process should be based on a general concept that takes into account financing as much as information transfer.
Minister Lenert explained that a shared goal is to ensure that the platform is attractive for doctors and allows patients to be reimbursed as quickly as possible. CNS president Christian Oberlé emphasised that every person should be able to benefit from the “administrative simplification”.
