Final works are currently being conducted before the ‘Micheville Connection’ can eventually open. Among a number of changes, the provisional roundabout at the entry of Belval will disappear. The new route is now to be connected directly to the tunnel.

Works are expected to be completed by 29 May 2023. Only one lane will be open at first, but the road should be completely ready by the beginning of the collective leave period in the construction sector at the end of July.

Once completed, the Micheville Connection will extend over 2.5 kilometres. The speed limitation will be 90 km/h.

Construction of the route between France and Luxembourg has been underway since 2006. The connection was initially expected to be completed four years ago.
