According to the same news reports, Michel Wolter had influenced the election of Fränk Engel as party president.
He specified that, after the elections, he had in fact been against the idea that Claude Wiseler, Marc Spautz and Laurent Zeimet could abandon their positions of power just two days after the elections, but that he had not been the only one.
Concerning the election of Fränk Engel as CSV president the long-time CSV politician remarked: "Over 550 people voted at the congress, and I'm supposed to have influenced it? That's nonsense!"
