Schummer confirmed the Tageblatt's report that he hopes to continue his role as an independent candidate due to the vote on the Google data centre.
Two CSV municipal council members, Christian Hoscheid and Cindy Barros, voted against the party line by not approving the land development plan for the data centre.
Four votes for the land development plan meant it was ultimately passed, given that the five "Är Leit" ("Your People") candidates abstained and the two above council members voted against it.
Now that Schummer has left the party, the CSV only represents five of the eleven council members in the municipal council.
