
The individual had been incarcerated at Givenich prison in Luxembourg, a semi-open facility situated in the east of the country within the municipality of Rosport-Mompach. Semi-open prisons allow inmates freedom of movement on the premises during the day, along with the opportunity to engage in work both inside and outside the prison.
Upon the arrest on New Year’s Eve, Trier police discovered a small quantity of cannabis, 1.9 grammes of cocaine, and a knife in the possession of the apprehended individual. Subsequently, following standard procedures, the man was transferred to the custody of the Luxembourg police.
