The man broke into his ex-wife's empty home in Howald on Thursday evening, before phoning her from the residence's telephone and threatening to kill her. He also went on a violent rampage around the house, destroying her belongings.
The woman alerted the police as she was too afraid to return home with her children. When officers arrested the man, he was said to be drunk and violent. He was brought before a judge on Friday morning.
